Great video! It feels really computerlish!
Why not using this to make a presentation of cafebabel.com?
Mmmm, looks cheaper to create that an actual video... Plus it's more flexible!
Alex
I can't believe twopointzero stuff will change the world. This video (1.805 - and electronic dust - million views on Youtube) explain things. Surely. But is a little... ambitious ? naïve ? Without much hindsight, for sure.
Welcome to the paradise, the machine is us/ing us.. Really ? Did we have to wait twopointzero to re-think ethics, democracy, aesthetics, commerce, love - !, sharing, identity and so on.
Any joke behind ? A lot of fun for me. Of laugh, sorry..
Welcome to Google and Microsoft paradise. Say : welcome to Drms, to spam, to online supersex (still number one search), to people talking to emptiness. How many blogs without readers, how many texts produced that never build any thought ? that only amplify the noise ?
Quite a dark look? Not really : I believe in many things, brought by the web (not only 2.0), by the medias, the evolution of minds. But I don't think we are entering the paradise..
Blindlemmon, what are your trying to say?
I agree that this is a good clip, a bit long maybe...It could definitely be useful to advertise our new community when it's ready! Let's be creative!
Hello miss.
That was just a sort of epidermic reaction to this so popular video.
Nothing really linked to what cafebabel is and will be. I just think that 'we' (I dont only speak about cafebabel) should be a bit cautious with "web 2.0 magic". What is a media in our young XXI century? What should it be ? What do 'we' want to do with a medias, with web ? Where does it lead ? Where do we want to go? Sort of boring questions that demand time to think about. I mean : a time that this videoclip doesn't really allow, that web 2.0 speedways sometimes forget.
About creativity in cafebabel advertising : no problem with that ! Even if that videoclip doesn't look so 'cheap' to me, not so easy to produce... whatever : long live cafebabel creativity
dear all!
I love the film! here's another one: http://philox.eu/
Follow the link and go to "preview".
We might get some inspiration from this initiave. It is not just theory from an academic, but how it could look in practice. A network of European students who can share information about working and living abroad.
Mah..personally I don't find this last one so nice..and I don't even like too much the idea of using that famous 2.o hymn as a presentation of the new cafebabel.com ... making a video like the second one takes more or less 20/30 mins and doesn't even requires special skills or programs...
Then, if we think we should/could have a sort of video presentation of the website, well, let's do something more 2.0ish than the philox.eu one..i'm sure if we brainstorm for a while we can surely arrange something..
I would even try to do it...but don't see any free time in a while..
I don't believe we enter the paradise as well, or that web 2.0 is changing the world.
But the way the information & communication were thought before, up to bottom, very vertical, is changing considerably, because of the web (call 2.0 if you want, but that's not the most important...). Now information & communication processes are much more horizontal, and bottom-up.
cafebabel.com is an early result of this (as it was already six years ago), using the web as a powerful tool.
The new website is intended to take even much more advantage of the opportunities afforded by the web, according to our own standards as well : quality particpatory journalism & debate.
