The new website will offer a larger place for images, as illustrations for articles, put also as a complete new dimension (photo galleries as such, picture blogs, cartoons).
- Can you think of anyone regularly contributing with images, to cafebabel.com or any othe participatory media ?
- Do you think of people being able to have an "image" blog on cafebabel.com? (Sticking to the individual blogs guidelines...)
- How do you think we could use image on cafebabel.com?
Interested in having an image blog on cafebabel.com ?

I think we'll be able to attract many photographers, for example on www.flickr.com, which could be interested by the multilingual side Flickr doesn't offer.
But will we be offering the same kind of platform as flickr? I don't think so. We should offer more visibility to photos/images - i mean in terms of size, as i think the current home page vignettes are too small.
The good thing about photos is that they often do not need a text, but the most interesing aspect is how they are interpreted - i think photoblogs could be one of the most interesting ones!
I think a photoblog could really be something special. I'd rather blog a photo I took the day than write something. And it's faster hence easier to contribute. I guess it would be very exciting to see what others associate with your pictures. I can imagine some very vivid discussions in the comments parts. (as long as you try to filter comments like: "nice shot" *eg)
I also very much like the idea of a photoblog. It is not only easier to maintain but also easier to look at. It's a win-win situation, let's do it!
Do you think we might even be able to do something similar with audio and video? Like podcasts and videocasts or whatever they are called? A bit like youtube?
I am in love for comics. Create a community of comic blogger, or visual art will be great.
Do you know cagle.com?
There you can find plenty of political cartoonists, mainly focused on USA politics.
And in Europe? Are there a movement of skilled cartonist that can drawn daily politics, life, gossip, culture, etc etc etc...?
