STAND UP FOR JOURNALISM: Mission Impossible, or Just Forgotten?

The European Federation of Journalists, in collaboration with Journalists @ Your Service, called for a Europe-wide day of action in promotion of journalists rights on November 5th, 2007.

This is our chance to send a message to all media owners about the importance of beeing free from pressure and producing quality media.

The day will consist of protest actions against the dramatic crisis facing journalists suffering from excessive commercialization, political pressure, falling standards and poor working conditions across Europe. The events, to take place in several European countries, will also be a celebration of the crucial role played by European journalists' unions for the promotion of quality journalism.

Residence Palace, Maelbeek Room Monday, 5 November 2007 at 10.30 am

Forum_discussionsI.jpg (credit photo: Erika)

Cafebabel.com will be launching its new online forums in the next couple of days! Babel Forums were uniquely designed to enable you to discuss trans-european issues with interactive, spontaneous, and fun-to-use tools. Relying on a network of multilingual moderators, each forum will address issues related to the editorial content but will also be reactive to hot current affairs thanks to our network journalists across Europe.

If you have ideas of topics you would like to discuss on the new generation of Babel Forums, please post your suggestions below or send an email to Vanessa at witkowski@cafebabel.com. If you are interested in moderating online discussions, please send me an email as well.

May the forums be with you!
